Horrible Luck in Poker

[ English ]

For a game where the majority of players rarely consider luck, there are lots of folklore in poker. When you say that a player was fortunate in that poker tournament they won, be mindful of how you say it. For instance, if you mention that you were unlucky, your luck may never change.

Ok, that might appear to be a bit strange, but poker is a game loaded with superstitions. Did you know that if you are gambling a game with two seperate decks and you’re asked to choose the deck, you should always select the deck that is the furthest away from you? Or, what If you get a run of poor cards, you have to settle on a hankerchief to destroy your horrible luck? It is certainly thought of as good luck to blow through a deck of cards when they are being mixed up.

Some other fascinating poker folklores are:

  • You might be able to alter the run of cards by walking around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the door.
  • The most detrimental spot has its rear to a fireplace.
  • When shifting chairs, you really should always do so clockwise.
  • The unluckiest poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It’s very unlucky to cross your legs when sitting at the poker table.
  • Sun is a terrible day for gambling on cards.
  • The 13th is also a bad day, despite when it falls during the week.
