No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

[ English ]

Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he enjoyed gambling on different card games at a young age. He found himself getting really aggressive in these card games as he was competing against his dad. After graduating from high school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a bit and headed to New York to play some serious chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s initial two years were difficult as he played countless hours and don’t win most times. He earned some additional cash by becoming an assistant for the poker players. He believed he could boost his game by adjusting his life away from poker. He brought about an attempt to acquire more rest and concentrate even more on poker.

The actual advancement in his skills began when he started wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best players would often compete against one another. Howard was able to access some of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, he would tweak his logical thinking abilities. Howard applied these strategy ideas to the game of NL holdem.

Howard also helped his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was a superb student of poker as she constantly asked questions about how to make the correct choice. Howard told Annie Duke to move out to Vegas and compete in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the strongest female players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard Lederer headed to Sin City in 1993 and played money games for the subsequent 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, Howard decided to participate in more tournaments.
