No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse comments from others kill his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an undying love for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors in each game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
